Title: Administrative Backlogs in Healthcare: Impact, Insights, and Solutions

Administrative backlogs can have a far-reaching impact on both the patient experience and the financial performance of ambulatory healthcare facilities. Delays in scheduling, eligibility verification, prior authorization, coding, billing, and collections can create longer wait times, treatment disruptions, claim denials, delayed reimbursements, and increased administrative rework. This presentation will examine how these interconnected delays affect patient, staff, and revenue cycle outcomes, while highlighting practical strategies for identifying bottlenecks, improving workflow visibility, and strengthening administrative capacity. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how reducing backlogs can support more timely care, improve patient satisfaction, and protect cash flow.

Enzo Ryan is a Senior Account Executive with Bizforce Healthcare, where he partners with hospitals, physician groups, health systems, and ambulatory surgery centers across the entire southern United States to help them build flexible, scalable revenue cycle teams. Bringing more than four years of sales and customer service experience, Enzo has spent the past 13 months at Bizforce focused on connecting healthcare organizations with experienced remote RCM talent, including billers, coders, prior authorization specialists, and accounts receivable staff, matched to each practice's specialty and EMR.  Enzo takes a relationship-first approach to his work, building long-term partnerships through conference networking, referral relationships, and consistent follow-through rather than one-off transactions. Covering one of the broadest territories at Bizforce, he works closely with practice administrators, revenue cycle leaders, and physician groups to understand their specific staffing pain points, from quality control concerns with past remote hires to scaling challenges during growth, and helps identify the right fit to solve them.

Agnes Powell is a healthcare revenue cycle and operational strategy executive with more than 20 years of experience working with hospitals, health systems, physician groups, ambulatory facilities, and other healthcare organizations. Her expertise spans the full revenue cycle, including patient access, coding, billing, denials, accounts receivable, payer contracting, reimbursement strategy, analytics, and operational performance.

Throughout her career, Agnes has specialized in helping healthcare organizations determine the right combination of people, processes, and technology to improve performance and build sustainable administrative capacity. This includes evaluating how traditional in-house teams, domestic remote professionals, offshore resources, automation, and technology can work together rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all staffing model.

Her approach focuses on identifying operational bottlenecks, reducing administrative backlogs, improving workflow visibility, and creating scalable teams that support both the patient experience and financial performance. Agnes brings a practical perspective shaped by leading revenue cycle operations, consulting with healthcare organizations across multiple specialties, and developing solutions for organizations ranging from individual physician practices to large hospital systems.
